Gylfaginning / The Deluding of King Gylfi

SynopsisKing Gylfi’s deluding is the first chapter of The Prose Edda, one of the first Icelandic texts (13th century) and probably the most exhaustive medieval source of our knowledge of Norse legends. The Gods tell the story of the creation myth while they perpetually trick the king with a cunning set of visual illusions. Lara is ten years’ old, this is her first reading of the Edda. She discovers the Norse universe at the same time as the camera discovers Iceland today.

BiografieDiana Vidrascu, geboren 1987 in Rumänien, ist Filmemacherin. Sie studierte Kamera an der Nationaluniversität der Theater- und Filmkunst „I. L. Caragiale“ in Bukarest und lebt inzwischen in Paris, wo sie als Kamerafrau für Fiction, Dokumentarfilm und kommerzielle Projekte arbeitet. Aufgrund ihrer Zusammenarbeit mit Künstler*innen, deren Fokus auf Experimentalfilm liegt, begann sie Kurzfilme zu drehen, die die visuellen Codes des Kinos hinterfragen.
